Miguel Harth-Bedoya, Fort Worth Symphony (virtual) | Celebrating the Farewell of our Maestro | Mar 19, 2021 12:00 PM |
Celebrating more than 30 years of professional conducting, Miguel Harth-Bedoya is a master of color, drawing idiomatic interpretations from a wide range of repertoire in concerts across the globe. He has amassed considerable experience at the helm of orchestras, including seven seasons as Chief Conductor of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and twenty seasons as Music Director of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. Previously he has held Music Director positions with the Auckland Philharmonia and Eugene Symphony. Beginning in August 2020, Harth-Bedoya will be the new Director of Orchestral Studies at the University of Nebraska, Omaha, and will work to create a brand new Bachelor of Music in orchestral conducting. He has also created The Conducting Institute, with a summer orchestral conducting program as well as a variety of online courses. Harth-Bedoya guest conducts with orchestras around the world. In the United States he has conducted the Atlanta Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Boston Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, Chicago Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, and St. Louis Symphony, among others. He is also frequently a guest at summer festivals such as Aspen Music Festival, Grand Teton Music Festival, Tanglewood Music Festival, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Grant Park Festival, and Hollywood Bowl. Following his exceptional tenure as Associate Conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic during the early years of his career, Harth-Bedoya’s “special chemistry” (LA Times) with the orchestra remains strong and he returns often as a guest conductor. |

Chancellor Victor Boschini, TCU | TCU in Review - A Retrospect and Update | Jun 04, 2021 12:00 PM |
Chancellor and TCU’s First Lady Megan Boschini consider themselves fortunate to have been a part of the University for the past 16 years. During that time, they have set a tone as a couple that emphasizes a “place at the table” for all members of the ever-growing TCU community. In his message at commencement, the Chancellor promotes the importance of civility in today’s society, challenging graduates to perform acts of kindness and assume the best in others. This “be kind—pass it on” message is vintage Chancellor Boschini and part of the growing movement of inclusiveness on campus. Chancellor Boschini considers himself fortunate to have a great partner in his wife, Megan, as they work together to advance all things TCU in a variety of venues. |
